That flavours any feelings that come along
With a bitter, icky whisper it comes creeping
Reminding me it’s been there for too long

How many times it’s tuned out my laugh track
How often it arrives when I finally thrive
How regularly it impairs me when I’m high
And compares it to the lows of my mind

I’m always a little bit sad
I’m not trying to whine, just trying to be true
If I ain’t got too much then I ain’t got too much to lose
It’s my whole lot in life to have a whole lot of the blues

I can’t ever get knocked down off my high-horse
If my horse is lying sadly on the ground
And I never understood the point of a happy song
If there’s never any sad bridge to overcome

For now, I’m far too forlorn to fight it
I’ve accepted my dejected state of being

Instead of uncertainty settling down on me
